Multiple victims were airlifted to local hospitals Monday afternoon after a head-on car accident in Union Township.

Officials said the accident happened on Route 88 near Mingo Church Road around 1 p.m.

Crews were quickly on the scene to clear the debris and ambulances took the victims to Finleyville Airport to be airlifted.

The number of victims and their names and conditions have not been released.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
